Our admissions team works with each family and, when applicable, the referring school division. We consider the student’s strengths, educational and therapeutic needs, current services, and the support our program can provide. A diagnosis or test score alone does not determine admission. We consider reasonable accommodations and apply our admission process without unlawful discrimination.

With appropriate consent, we review relevant evaluations, the current IEP or other individual service plan, school records, and health and support needs. Families participate in an interview and can ask questions about our K–12 therapeutic day program. We communicate a written admission decision within two weeks after the evaluation and interview are complete.

Before enrollment, we coordinate educational and therapeutic services, required consents, and a transition plan with the family and school division when applicable. Admission depends on whether Lafayette can meet the student’s needs within its licensed day-school program. If a student needs services we cannot provide, such as inpatient stabilization or continuous nursing care, we explain the concern and discuss next steps.
